Assembly of smart card components

In response to economic and environmental concerns, the lifespan of cards, particularly in the banking sector, is tending to lengthen. Hence the need for a long-term, sustainable quality fixation, while ensuring good overall functionality. The adhesives developed by Adhex allow the assembly or rigid micromodules in a rigid or flexible card body, whatever the material: From the traditional polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) to materials that are increasingly popular for this purpose, such as polyester (PET) or polycarbonate (PC), they guarantee very strong adhesion and demonstrate high resistance to ageing, but also to humidiy, water, heat, temperature variations, UV and shear. Contact or contactless smart cards, hybrid or dual interface cards (dual interface or DI cards), multi-function cards and other smart cards, the ribbons are suitable for easy use on production lines with already existing machines and perfectly compatible for high assembly speeds. The market for dual interface cards (two data transmission interfaces but a single chip, for contact or contactless connection) is booming and tends to supplant that of hybrid cards (several interfaces and several chips), especially for payment cards and ID cards: this technology has the advantage of being able to introduce a contactless system even if it is not yet intergrated into the overall structure. To connect the RF (radio-frequency) antenna to the chip, our adhesives demonstrate high electrical conductivity, guaranteeing high-speed data transmission.
